Every EV Charging Service We Install in The Woodlands
Charger work splits into a handful of jobs, and the right one depends on what you drive and what your panel can carry. Here is the full range we handle from Grogan's Mill to the Research Forest corridor.
Level 2 EV Charger Installation
Installing 240-volt Level 2 chargers that add roughly 20-40 miles of range per hour, the standard home-charging solution. We size the circuit to the unit's continuous draw, not to whatever breaker happens to be free.
02Tesla Wall Connector Installation
Mounting and wiring the Tesla Wall Connector, including Gen 3 units, with correct breaker sizing and Wi-Fi commissioning. The unit comes off the wall charging at the amperage it was rated for.
03NEMA 14-50 Outlet Installation
Installing a dedicated 240V NEMA 14-50 outlet in a garage or carport for plug-in mobile connectors. Industrial-grade receptacle, dedicated run, GFCI protection where code calls for it.
04Electrical Panel Upgrades for EV Charging
Upgrading 100A service to 200A, adding capacity, and clearing insufficient-panel conditions so a charger circuit can be added safely. This is the fix when the load calculation says no.
05Hardwired EV Charger Installation
Permanently hardwiring a charger to the panel for higher continuous amperage, outdoor durability, and code compliance on 60A circuits. The right call for 48-amp units and anything mounted outside.
06Commercial & Workplace EV Charging Stations
Installing single or multiple charging stations for offices, fleets, retail, and hospitality, including networked and payment-enabled units. Built around your service capacity and your parking layout.
07Multi-Family & HOA EV Charging
Charging solutions for apartments, condos, and HOA-governed communities, including load-shared and metered installations. Designed so one resident's charger does not become the whole building's problem.
08EV Charger Repair & Troubleshooting
Diagnosing faults, replacing failed units, correcting improper prior installs, and resolving breaker-tripping or charging-fault issues. Most of what we fix was installed by someone who was not an electrician.
Why Woodlands Drivers Hand This Job to Us
EV charger work sits at the intersection of high continuous load and residential wiring, which is exactly where shortcuts show up later as heat. Everything below is about making sure that does not happen at your address.
We Pull the Permits and Stand for the Inspection
Permitting around Montgomery County is not the same from one subdivision to the next, and most homeowners do not want to learn the difference. We file what your jurisdiction requires, schedule the inspection, and meet the inspector on site. You get a charger that is legal on paper as well as safe in the wall.
You Get a Flat Number Before Any Work Starts
We quote the job after we have looked at the panel, measured the run, and confirmed what the unit draws. That number is written down and it is the number you pay. No hourly meter running while someone decides where the wire goes.
EVITP-Certified and Manufacturer-Trained
Our installers carry EVITP certification, the national training program built specifically for EV supply equipment, and we install to the published requirements for Tesla, ChargePoint, Wallbox, Enphase, Emporia, and Grizzl-E. Commissioning a unit correctly is part of the job, not an afterthought.
We Do the Rebate and Tax-Credit Paperwork With You
Incentive programs generally want proof that a licensed contractor did permitted work, which is the part that trips people up after the fact. We give you the documentation in the form the program asks for, at the time of the install, while it is easy to produce.
A Licensed Electrical Contractor, Not a General Handyman
This is a TECL-licensed, insured electrical contracting operation. A 48-amp continuous circuit is not a weekend project, and the difference between a correct install and a plausible-looking one does not show up until the wire has been warm for a few months.
EV Charger Installation Across The Woodlands and Montgomery County
Our coverage follows the I-45 corridor north and south of The Woodlands and spreads west along FM 1488 and FM 2978, which puts the villages, Shenandoah, Oak Ridge North, Spring, Conroe, and Magnolia all inside a comfortable same-week window. Housing stock here varies enormously. A 1980s home off Grogan's Mill Road has a very different panel story than new construction near Creekside Park, and knowing that before we arrive saves everyone a return trip.
We Know What's Behind These Walls
Neighborhoods here were built in waves, and each wave brought its own panel brands, service sizes, and garage layouts. We can usually tell from your street and your build year whether a 100-amp service is the likely obstacle. That means the quote we give over the phone is close to the quote you sign.
Scheduling That Holds Across the Whole Map
We stage crews so a job in Conroe does not push a job in Creekside Park to the following week. Appointment windows are kept tight on purpose, and if something runs long, you hear about it before your window opens rather than after it closes.
One Number Covers the Entire Area
Whether the charger is going into a garage in Alden Bridge, a carport in Porter, or a parking deck in Shenandoah, (281) 789-1750 reaches the same people. You will not be handed to a franchise office in another county or asked to re-explain the job to a dispatcher who has never seen your street.

A few notes from recent installs around the area.
Our Ioniq 5 arrived three weeks before I thought it would and I panicked about charging. They walked the panel with me on a Tuesday, told me straight that my 125-amp service would carry a 40-amp circuit but not the 48, and quoted both options anyway. The install was clean, the conduit run is tucked where I would have put it myself, and the inspector signed off without a single note. No surprises on the invoice.
I had a NEMA 14-50 put in by a handyman two years ago and it tripped every time the dryer ran. These guys found the outlet was on a shared neutral and the receptacle was a hardware-store unit not rated for continuous load. They pulled a dedicated run, used a proper industrial receptacle, and explained exactly what had been wrong. It has not tripped once since.
We needed four stations for our office lot and I expected the whole thing to be a six-month project. They did the load study first, told us honestly that we could do three now and a fourth after a transformer conversation with the utility, and did not try to sell us the bigger package. Everything is networked and billing correctly. Straightforward people.
Tesla Wall Connector on an outdoor wall, which apparently is where a lot of installs go wrong. They hardwired it at 60 amps, sealed the penetration properly, got it on our Wi-Fi, and showed me how to check the amperage in the app before they left. The quote they gave me on the first visit is exactly what I paid.
Our HOA board had been going in circles on charging for over a year. They came to a board meeting, explained load sharing in language the board could follow, and laid out metering so each resident pays for their own power. The first four spaces went in last month with zero drama. Genuinely helpful through a slow decision process.
EV Charger Installation Questions We Hear in The Woodlands
The questions below come up on nearly every first call.
Still not answered?
Every house is a slightly different problem. Describe the panel and the car and we will give you a straight answer on the call.
Ask an electrician: (281) 789-1750Most residential Level 2 installs land in a predictable range, and the variables are distance from the panel, whether the run is through finished space, and whether your service has capacity. We quote flat after seeing the panel so the number does not move. If a panel upgrade is required, we price that separately and clearly so you can decide.
That depends on your service size and your existing load, which is why we run a load calculation rather than guessing. Many homes here built before the mid-1990s came with 100- or 125-amp service, and a 48-amp charger is often more than that will carry. A 32- or 40-amp install frequently solves it without touching the panel.
Requirements differ by jurisdiction and by whether your address is inside a municipality, so we confirm that before we start rather than assuming. Where a permit applies, we file it and coordinate the inspection as part of the job. You do not have to call anyone.
A straightforward garage install next to the panel is usually a half day. Longer conduit runs, attic or crawl routing, or an outdoor mount can push it to a full day. A panel upgrade is a separate day and involves a planned power interruption we schedule with you in advance.
If you want 48 amps, if the unit is going outside, or if the manufacturer requires it, hardwiring is the answer. A 14-50 outlet is a good fit for a mobile connector or a plug-in unit at 32 amps and it makes the equipment easy to swap later. We will tell you which one your situation actually calls for.
Yes, and a good share of our work is exactly that. Send us the model and we will confirm the circuit it needs and whether your panel supports it before we schedule. If the unit is a poor match for your service, we would rather tell you while it is still returnable.
Nuisance tripping usually traces back to one of three things: a breaker sized for intermittent rather than continuous load, a GFCI conflict between the charger's internal protection and a GFCI breaker, or a connection that has loosened under heat. We diagnose the actual cause instead of swapping parts. Correcting it is usually far cheaper than replacing the charger.
We provide the permit record, the licensed-contractor documentation, and the itemized invoice that incentive programs ask for, in the format they want it. We do not file your taxes and we do not promise a specific dollar amount, because program terms change. What we can do is make sure the paperwork side is never the reason a claim stalls.
We do, and it is a different design problem than a single-family garage. Shared infrastructure usually needs load sharing so several stations can coexist on one feed, plus metering so power costs land on the right resident. We are comfortable presenting that to a board.
Tesla, ChargePoint, Wallbox, Enphase, Emporia, and Grizzl-E are the ones we see most, and we install to each manufacturer's published requirements. If you have picked something outside that list, send us the spec sheet. The circuit requirements are what matter and we will confirm them before committing to a date.
